Walk for Jigsaw at Rotawalk’21

Come and walk for Jigsaw at ‘Rotawalk’21’ on Sunday 12th September 2021 at Holmwood Common.

We’d love you to join us for a sponsored walk through the beautiful ancient woodlands of Holmwood Common in Dorking. Rotary in Dorking are organising this relaxed, family-friendly event which follows easy paths and trails for 4 miles, allowing you time to enjoy the dappled woodland and sunny clearings of the Common.

It costs just £5 per adult to register and under 16s go free (must be accompanied by an adult). The event is designed to help local charities raise funds after the challenges of the past year so, where possible, we ask walkers to raise sponsorship to support Jigsaw Trust. There is no minimum (or maximum!) sponsorship requirement.

Funds raised will go towards supplying vital support and services that enable children and adults with autism to build independence and reach their potential.

On the day:

The starting point for Jigsaw Trust walkers is at the Fourwents Pond Car Park on Mill Road at 10am, parking is free.

This is a family- and autism-friendly event. The paths are well-used by push chairs, there is a cinder-based all-weather path that is more accessible for wheelchair users and there are benches scattered around. Holmwood Common also welcomes well-behaved dogs. There will be temporary toilet facilities available at the car park, refreshments can be purchased at the Viewpoint, and the event will adhere to national government guidelines for Covid restrictions.

You will enjoy a ‘Virtual Tour’ around the borders of Surrey, with information boards on 12 well-known locations, with a quiz question at each one. There will also be a Nature Quiz for younger walkers.

Please join us for a fun community event while raising some funds for Jigsaw if you can. It will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy a bit of fresh air and exercise in a stunning part of the Surrey Hills.
