Jigsaw has a small team of Classroom Support Assistants working across all classes within Jigsaw School, assisted by the Class Support Lead.  A varied role, CSAs work with both individual students and small groups, providing important additional support to our teaching team within the classroom and during outdoor and off-site activities.

The Role of Classroom Support at Jigsaw

I really enjoy the role of Classroom Support Lead because the role has many facets to it, such as…you work directly with individual students and really get to observe their progress on a daily basis and build a relationship with them. You also have the opportunity to work with small groups through extra curricular activities such as horse-riding and swimming

Training is provided to you to become Group Leader on these trips which makes the role more challenging and you have a sense of achievement. I have accessed, over the past five years, a variety of training courses including, safeguarding, first aid, food hygiene, SCIPr, medical training and more

The role itself is very varied, no two days are the same, The hours work for my personal life, a good work/life balance; the teaching team bring enthusiasm and fun to the school; you are part of the team; you are able to make an impact on the students’ lives and it is a great working environment!

A CSA’s View

Working at Jigsaw Trust is extremely vibrant and lively, with no two days ever being the same. Jigsaw Trust is always concerned about the wellbeing of their staff (and students) and there is a very good work-life balance. Staff members are not just numbers, we are treated as individuals

As a Classroom Support Assistant I find there is an amazing sense of camaraderie within the Jigsaw team. We work across the board with various roles during the course of the day, which could include, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, off-site activities and classroom-based activities. Working in a CSA team, we have a close relationship bond and can always rely on each other

The role as a CSA is filled with fun, laughter and smiles no matter where you are based. Using the CABAS system is extremely rewarding and beneficial for both students and staff

From the time we enter the school to the time we leave our days are filled with smiles and laughter.
