Jigsaw Trust was pleased to host a special grand opening event for our new sensory playground at Jigsaw School, welcoming donors and members of the Ball Committee to celebrate the completion of this exciting project.
The event took place in the playground itself, where guests heard a thank-you speech from Jigsaw Trust CEO, Kate Grant, and had the opportunity to see the new facilities in use. Visitors were then invited to enjoy refreshments and join a guided tour of the school.
The sensory playground has been made possible thanks to the generous donations raised through Jigsaw Trust’s 25 Years Anniversary Ball and from the Community Foundation for Surrey, Garfield Weston Foundation and Chalk Cliff Trust. Funds were dedicated to creating an inclusive, engaging outdoor space tailored to the needs of our pupils.
The playground features a range of specialist equipment, including a sensory arch, water play and sand play areas, along with several smaller modular units that can be configured in different ways. Together, these elements are designed to support pupils’ sensory development, alongside the development of gross motor skills and essential play skills.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our anniversary fundraising efforts. This new facility will have a lasting, positive impact on our pupils and provides a wonderful space for exploration and enjoyment.
