We were delighted to officially launch the Academy, our new training kitchen area at Café on the Park and to welcome the key funders who helped turn this project into a reality.
Representatives from Signify, Catercall and PumpServ joined us for the ribbon cutting ceremony, where they learned more about the positive impact their support is already having. Guests also enjoyed a selection of cakes, all prepared and served by our pupils and learners.
Café on the Park is a social enterprise that offers meaningful work experience for our pupils and adult learners as well as being a commercial café. By working alongside the Café Manager and the wider team, they contribute to the smooth running of daily operations. This hands on experience helps build confidence, promotes wellbeing and supports the development of valuable transferable life skills.
Tony Henderson from Jigsaw Trust, said:
“It was a wonderful opportunity to show our donors how the use of the Academy contributes to our learners’ vocational training and experience, their independent and community living and their health and personal progress. We are grateful for their support.”
We would also like to extend our thanks to The Rutland Group, Savoy Educational Trust and the generous fundraisers from our recent 25th Anniversary Ball, who all played an important role in bringing this project to life.
