Signify donate human-centric lighting to JigsawPlus

Signify donate human-centric lighting to JigsawPlus – Signify has generously donated state-of-the-art flexible \’human-centric\’ lighting equipment that can be used to enhance the learning environment within 13 of the Teaching & Learning spaces across JigsawPlus – specialist day services for autistic adults in Surrey.

Thanks to this donation, along with a contribution to installation costs, light settings in these spaces can be adapted to best suit the activity at hand via the ‘Read’, ‘Relax’, ‘Concentrate’ and ‘Energise’ dimmable settings.  Staff can select the best lighting for not just each activity but also each learner, thereby creating a multi-functional workspace discretely adapted to individual needs.

The positive effects of light on behaviour, mood, satisfaction and comfort have been intensively studied and lighting is known to have a profound effect on people, producing visual, biological, and emotional benefits that can be seen to support engagement with the task at hand as well as general wellbeing.*

Signify’s donation aligns with JigsawPlus’ values where the needs and preferences of each learner are placed at the heart of their own individualised, functional learning plans.

“We are hugely grateful to Signify for this donation of specialist lighting, enabling us to take another key step forwards in providing lifelong learning environments where our vulnerable adults feel at ease, safe and are able to thrive.” Kate Grant, CEO Jigsaw Trust
