Record Breaking Jigsaw Run 2021!

A record-breaking £14,885 was raised at this year’s Jigsaw 10k Run!  On Sunday 9th May, the rain clouds parted, the sun came out and the Jigsaw Run 2020 (postponed from November) was finally able to take place.runner crossing chip timing finish at Jigsaw's annual 10k runDunsfold Park was race-ready and Covid-secure as the runners gathered in various states of anticipation. The annual Jigsaw Run is usually the last race of the season; it has the advantage of being flat and fast so runners achieve their personal bests and general ‘feel good’ times – it didn’t disappoint.

The wide range of participants was a joy to see after so long in lockdown. We enjoyed watching the super-fast coming in at around 32 minutes and cheering on Grandpa George as he made his way around, supporting the Jigsaw Trust and earning a warm reception at every turn. It was fantastic to see familiar faces helping out, waving, cheering and running.

All runners received a Jigsaw medal – in the shape of a jigsaw piece! – as they crossed the finish line. The achievements didn’t end there as a massive £14,885.90 was raised from the entries, sponsorships and donations. All the proceeds go towards Jigsaw’s specialist services, helping our pupils and learners to acquire new skills, grow in independence and ultimately fulfil their potential.

An event like this wouldn’t be able to happen without an army of volunteers and the generosity of sponsors. We’d like to acknowledge the Cranleigh Lions and all our volunteers for helping on the day, Cranleigh Co-op for the kind donation of bottled water and to our event sponsors Informed Choice and Dunsfold Park.
